Event Management Overview
Events are at the centerpiece of your reporting and metrics inside of your Pingtree campaigns. An event refers to a specific action or occurrence that, when triggered, will prompt the allocation and distribution of leads or traffic to various destinations or recipients.
Event Management allows you to strategically plan, execute and analyze your campaign's performance based upon certain lead events you choose to implement. You're able to determine when you want the event to occur, the data that's sent back when it does occur and subsequent information you want as a result of it occurring.
There are many different types of lead events. Examples of some common types of events include: {Lead Capture Events} {Engagement Events} {Click-Through Events} {Conversion Events}
These events can also be used to determine financial actions in your campaign such as when payouts are are to be sent to your traffic sources and when revenue should be generated from your buyers.
There are two types of event structures on the Pingtree platform:
System Events
and Custom Events
System Events:
These events are natively accessible through Pingtree's clickscript however they can modified as to when they are triggered. They reside at the organization level meaning although you may choose when and how they are triggered in each campaign, the event ID's will remain the same across the board.
Examples of System Events
Base Event - This event occurs when a lead is created via Pingtree's clickscript.
Base Click Sold Event - This event occurs once a click has been generated. In many cases, this event will fire simultaneously with the base event
Base Form Sold Event - This event occurs when a form is "sold". You can manipulate when this event is fired and under what circumstances
Base Call Sold Event - This event occurs when a call is sold **Call routing and call events will be available in Q3 of 2024
Custom Events:
Custom events are created by you. These events can be created and implemented at either the organization level or on the campaign level. Some of these events may be more specific to certain verticals while some may have use-cases in multiple verticals.
