Getting Started

So you've built an awesome lead gen offer, now how do you associate your domain with it for everyone to see.

Integrating your DNS with Pingtree is a vital step in the offer build process. In this article, we will discuss how to integrate your domains and subdomains into Pingtree and a step-by-step process from purchasing a domain --> getting your site live.

Step 1: Purchase your Domain

You will need to purchase the domain for your offer if you do not already have an existing root domain. This would be completed in whichever hosting service you're using.

Step 2: Determine Which Domain(s) to Use

Determine if you will be using a root domain (sampledomain.com) or a subdomain (subdomain.sampledomain.com) for your campaign.

Step 3: Pointing the Domain

You will now need to point the A-Record of your root domain or subdomain to Pingtree's Webflow 2.0 IP address. This action will be done from the hosting service where your domain is currently being hosted.

The IP address can be found in your campaign's Webflow "Domains-DNS" settings by clicking on the info icon referenced in the image below. You can also ask your account manager who will provide this for you.

IMPORTANT NOTE: IF you are pointing your root domain, you will ALSO need to point the A-Record of your "WWW" subdomain to the same IP Address.

The image below is an example (ref. GoDaddy platform) of how you would configure it in your hosting platform. Type = A Record. Name = Subdomain. Value=IP address. TTL (Time to Live) is your preference

Step 4: Adding Domain in Pingtree

You will now need to add the root domain or subdomain that you just pointed into Pingtree. This is done at the organization level. In your left hand menu under Domain Management, select "Domain List" which will open up the view where you will manage all of your domains for each and every campaign.

Select "Add Domain" in the upper right hand side, which will prompt you to add in your domain. In this input box, all you will need to add is the domain itself, so if it's a subdomain you would input "subdomain.sampledomain.com" or if it's the root domain "sampledomain.com".

Step 5: Purchasing Redirect Domain

Once you've added your domain and successfully submitted it in step 4, you should see this domain added into your list with an "Awaiting Campaign Selection" message in the Status column.

Next to where you selected the "Add Domain" button, you will see a "Buy Redirect" button. Clicking this will purchase a unique redirect domain automatically which can be used specifically used as redirects for your offer. Depending on your tracking link settings, you can configure this to redirect to and external domain, webflow index page, webflow form flow or as a direct sell.

**The redirect domain may take 5-10 minutes before it's active after purchase.

Step 6: Adding Domains to the Campaign

Now that you have added your domain and purchased your redirect domain (if applicable), you will need to associate the domains with a campaign.

Inside of your campaign's Webflow 2.0 "Domains-DNS" section, you will click from the dropdown menu underneath "Product Webflow Domain".

All unassociated domains and redirect from your domain management section will show up in this menu. Select the root domain or subdomain which you've added for this campaign.

Once the correct domain is selected, click "Verify". This will prompt a screen confirming your selection, at which point you will click "Submit". You will see the domain begin to propagate. This process may take 5-10 minutes. Once completed you will see a green note "Success Domain registration verified".

Repeat the same process with the Redirect Domain.
